Do I need a credit card to start the free trial?
Yes, a credit card is required to start your 30-day free trial. You won't be charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel anytime before that. We ask upfront to keep the experience identical to the full product, no artificial limits, no degraded features during the trial.
What happens to my vaults if I don't renew?
Your active vaults continue until their set expiry date. Once your subscription ends, you won't be able to create new vaults, but nothing is deleted early. Your data follows the rules you set, not our billing cycle.
What counts toward my storage limit?
Storage is counted based on total upload volume within your subscription year, meaning the cumulative size of all files uploaded across your vaults (active, expired or deleted).
Is my data really private, even from Clume?
Yes. Your files are encrypted on your device before they ever reach our servers. Clume holds no encryption keys and has no way to read your content. Not us, not our hosting provider, not anyone without your vault password.
What happens when a vault expires?
Everything in the vault (files, notes, keys) is permanently deleted from our infrastructure. There is no recovery option by design. This isn't a soft delete; it's gone.
Do recipients need a Clume account?
No. Anyone with the vault ID and password can access it directly in a browser. You can also set access roles (upload only, download only) so recipients can't do more than you intend.
Is Clume compliant with GDPR?
Yes. Clume is hosted entirely within the European Union, designed around data minimisation principles, and built with automatic deletion, which is the strongest form of GDPR compliance we could implement.
